Wine

Stanton & Killeen Grand Rutherglen Topaque is made with Muscadelle grapes from the estate vineyard at Rutherglen in north-east Victoria.

After a brief fermentation, the wine is fortified and set aside to age for many years.

If a parcel is particularly special, it may eventually 'graduate' to age in the winery's Grand solera system. These wines are the product of exceptional vintages, combining fruit depth with aged complexity.

At each release, small portions of the oldest barrels from the Grand solera are drawn off and bottled, and the barrels are refilled with the wine from the next oldest collection.

As a result of blending, this wine has an average age of 15-20 years.

Deep amber, Stanton & Killeen Grand Rutherglen Topaque has rich layers of malt, toffee and caramelized butter, with hints of acidity from marmalade and citrus notes.

Already fully matured, it will not improve with bottle age. Best consumed within two years of release.
